I Like French Food and Drink - A Maconnais Chardonnay.

The best Aligot wines are claimed to come from the hamlet of Bouzeron and its environs, found in the Cte Chalonnaise area of Burgundy. These wines are on occasion a mix of Aligot and Chardonnay. If you're visiting Burgundy, and you should, make certain to stop by the Cte dOr hamlet of Chteauneuf about 25 miles ( 40 kilometers ) southwest of Dijon in north Burgundy. Its focus is the Chteau ( Castle ) built in 1132 and occupied by the same family for 9 generations till 1456 when Cathrine of Chteauneuf was burnt to death, it is often said that she poisoned her 2nd man, Jacques dHaussonville. When you're looking for fine French food and wine, consider the Mconnais area of the Burgundy area in eastern France. Partisans, and they're many claim that Burgundy is truly the no 1 or number 2 wine-producing area in France, if not on the planet. If you're visiting the Mconnais area, and you should, make certain to stop by the hamlet of Cluny and its medieval abbey, once the bigge st church in all Europe. The site contains a horse-breeding center set up by Napoleon using stone from the abbey. But do visit Autuns Portes ( Archways ) and the Thtre Romain, once the biggest arena in Gaul ( Roman France ) with room for fifteen thousand spectators. My first meal was whole-wheat spaghetti with a home made tuna, red onion, garlic, and Greek olive sauce that had a commercial tomato spaghetti sauce as its base. I doused on lots of rasped Parmesan Cheese. As I continued the meal I noticed that this wine isn't feeble. Its astringency was a good accompaniment to fruit-juice candy. The final meal was a disheartening "Louisiana" style home grilled chicken sausage. The wine was light and fruity with decent length.
